From a small enterprise to an international corporate group
1967
Andreas Scherer, Georg Scherer and Lothar Trier founded the company in downtown Michelau. The extruded profiles were primarily oriented toward the local basket and small furniture industry.
1971
The company received the first order from the automotive industry.
1979
The company moved its location in the new business park in Michelau in Oberfranken. It creates a new administration building and a larger production hall for extrusion technology.
1984
The company expanded the production line by using the injection molding technique.
1988
It arise a research & development center including new CNC machinery in order to make our own tools and samples.
1993
Lothar Trier got General Manager and owner. The name of the company remained with „Kunststoff-Technik Scherer & Trier“.
1998
The company expanded its warehousing capacity by building a new logistics center.
2000
The company starts its globalization. At the site Puebla/ Mexico provides with the KUNSTSTOFF-TECHNIK TRIER DE MEXICO a modern production base.
2001
In Goteborg/ Schweden established another foreign location with the KUNSTSTOFF-TECHNIK SCANDINAVIA AB.
2002
In Michelau in Oberfranken, the production rage is extended by the founding of the state of the art painting plan.
2005
The new subsidiary KUNSTSTOFF-TECHNIK SCHERER & TRIER USA INC. based in Saline/ USA.
2008
The area of logistics is expend by building a 3.000 sqm factory floor to deliver "just-in-sequence".
2010
After the death of founder Lothar Trier his sons Dr. Hartmut Trier and Martin Trier continue the family-owned enterprise.
2015
In February occurred the takeover of the business of Scherer& Trier by the Indian Samvardhana Motherson Group.
