DaimlerChrysler confers Supplier Award
The award was conferred in recognition of the contribution made by the company to the Chrysler model PT Cruiser in the last business year. The European variant of the US car, which has also found many friends in Germany due to its retro design, was fitted with various parts supplied by Scherer & Trier at the production site in Graz (Austria).

By conferring the Supplier Award, DaimlerChrysler was honouring the quality, schedule effectiveness, service and technology of the company’s supplier services. At the prize-giving ceremony last week in Michelau, Georg Seidl, Head of Purchasing for production parts at Chrysler Austria Ges. m.b.H. & Co. KG, described the results and the project management of Scherer & Trier as being „exemplary". In the space of just a year Scherer & Trier had accompanied the projects from idea to production stage. The Managing Director, Martin Trier, praised the superb commitment of all staff and announced his keen interest in continuing the business relationship with DaimlerChrysler both in Europe as well as in the USA.
By receiving the DaimlerChrysler Supplier Award for the first time, Scherer & Trier was adding to the number of quality awards it has received from customers. Recently the company had been fêted „Supplier of the Year“ for the second time in succession by General Motors.

Scherer & Trier has a staff of 2000 and produces technical sections and all types of products from thermoplastic materials in Michelau, Hirschaid near Bamberg as well as at its production plants in Mexico and Sweden. Its automotive sector customers include all the German and a host of international car makers. In 2001 over 60 different vehicle types worldwide contained parts supplied by Scherer & Trier.
