The second time Scherer & Trier among the "best of the best"
With its home in Upper Franconia, the plastics processing company Kunststoff-Technik Scherer & Trier, one of the largest employers in the region of Coburg, Kronach and Lichtenfels with a workforce of approx. 1900, was presented with the "Supplier-of-the-Year" award from General Motors (GM) for a second time running.

This year GM only presented the "Supplier-of-the-Year-Award" to 91 of its more than 10,000 suppliers world-wide. Scherer & Trier received the prize in the category "Exterior Moldings and Claddings/Extruded Plastics".
To receive such an award, Scherer & Trier had to prove once again in 2001 that it held a leading position in its line of business as far as quality, service, technology and prices are concerned.

Only the "best of the best" were selected by GM and elected "Supplier-of-the-Year" in Toronto in April. Scherer & Trier was represented by Siegbert Polke, Sales Division Manager for GM/Opel, and Nicole Schreck, Opel Project Team Manager.
At Schloss Hohenstein (in the rural district of Coburg) a celebration was recently held for those employees who could not be present in Canada but who had considerably contributed to the success with GM/Opel in 2001.

On the above occasion, Managing Director Martin Trier underlined once again that a success of this scale could never have been achieved without all those employees who efficiently worked together throughout the whole process from the inquiry phase through product development to series production. The realisation of innovative ideas and continual improvement of processes and products will continue to enjoy highest priority at Scherer & Trier.

Scherer & Trier was founded in 1967 and in 2001 it achieved a turnover of around 175 million Euros, the major part of which was earned in the automotive industry. Amongst its customers are such renowned companies as Audi, BMW, Daimler-Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, Opel, Porsche, Saab, Volvo and VW.
